The purpose of this study; The aim of this study is to evaluate the perceptions of social workers working in the field of migration towards multiculturalist social work practice and to reveal how they experience this practice. The research sample consists of social workers working in the field of migration in Istanbul. Within the scope of the research, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. In the findings section, social workers; Their views on multicultural society, the differences of clients and their attitudes resulting from professional experience, the role of social work education, the problems experienced by different cultural groups, and the perspectives of social workers. The findings obtained within the scope of the research show that cultural differences and providing services according to these differences are important for social workers working in the field; but at the same time, it has shown that ethical dilemmas and value conflicts occur due to these differences. It has been concluded that multiculturalist social work practice is not sufficiently developed in Turkey because an effective practice basis has not been formed beforehand.
Bu çalışmanın amacı; göç alanında çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının, çokkültürcü sosyal hizmet uygulamasına yönelik algılarının değerlendirilmesi ve bu uygulamayı nasıl deneyimlediklerini açığa çıkarmaktır. Araştırma örneklemini İstanbul İlinde göç alanında çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında nitel araştırma desenlerinden fenomenolojiden yararlanılmıştır. Bulgular bölümünde sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının; çokkültürlü topluma dair görüşleri, müracaatçıların farklılıkları ve mesleki deneyim sonucu oluşan tutumları, sosyal hizmet eğitiminin rolü, farklı kültürel grupların yaşadığı sorunlar ve sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının bakış açısı yer almaktadır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bulgular, alanda çalışan sosyal hizmet uzmanları için kültürel farklılıkların ve bu farklılıklara göre hizmet sunmanın önemli olduğunu; fakat aynı zamanda bu farklardan dolayı etik ikilem ve değer çatışması yaşandığını göstermiştir. Türkiye’de çokkültürcü sosyal hizmet pratiğinin yeterince gelişmediği çünkü öncesinde etkin bir uygulama zemininin oluşmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
