Abstract Green economy is a model of economic development that assumes a responsible attitude towards resources. It aims to find a reasonable compromise between economic growth and conservation of natural resources. This is sustainable development and remains the most important long-term goal of many countries of the world, including Azerbaijan. But to achieve this, it is necessary to form a green economy. A green economy has the potential to achieve sustainable development and eradicate poverty on a massive scale and therefore requires the joint efforts of world leaders, civil society and leading companies. Green economic investments form the basis of ecologically and economically sustainable development. As for the impact of green economy investments on sustainable development, green integrations can play a decisive role in controlling and stabilizing the economic system and sustainabledevelopment. The role of green investments is very important for the sustainable development of the economy. Because green investment is an ecologically cleaner and more sustainable type of investment.Investments are objectively the driving force of the green economy, and they are the guarantor of the sustainable development of the economy in general. Green investments can meet the demands ofsocietyand help increase the image and reputation of financial institutions.
