Convergent technologies are important to businesses because they combine different technology solutions to achieve new capabilities and increase productivity. Today, there are many types of converged technologies that are used in business, including: Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain, robotics and automation, big data, and analytics, etc. Each of these methods and their varieties can be applied to solve the same problems. However, the effectiveness of choosing the best convergent technology depends on the correctness and completeness of the factors influencing the selection process. It should also be noted that most of these factors are fuzzy, uncertain, and difficult to formalize. On the other hand, the selection process refers to multi-criteria and multi-alternative problems, for the solution of which it is proposed to use Z-numbers, which are applied in solving problems with not quite reliable factors expressed with a certain probability. The paper considers the choice of convergent technology in warehouse management using Z-numbers. This approach is effective because Z-numbers take into account peculiarities of human thinking which is based on the experience and intuition of the enterprise employees and allows to estimate more effectively peculiarities of the convergent technology and the business process itself. When selecting a convergent technology for warehouse management along with expert judgments other factors such as budget, resource availability, and specific business requirements are also taken into account. The article provides an algorithm for solving the problem and gives an example of its solution based on Z-numbers. The results allow us to conclude that this approach can be used by IT departments in the formation of IT strategies of enterprises.
