In this paper, an intuitionistic fuzzy
technique is proposed to evaluate Basic Human Needs Index (BHNI) that is one of
main factors constituting Social Progress İndex. İntuitionistic fuzzy sets and
logic are suitable in this regard to solve Weighted Linear Combination (WLC)
problems. In this paper the core intention is to combine
weighted indicators that frame BHNI. Assessment of global indices are mainly based on crisp WLC
methods. There doesnt exist a generalized way, so overcoming these kind of
issues requires different approaches, including fuzzy methods. The current
paper is distinguished from previous ones on the same methods, with
fuzzification tools of crisp data and intuitionistic fuzzy methodology. The put
forward methodology in this work can be a piece of help in the generalization
of the assesment of BHNI. The computation of BHNI of
the country is carried out on the basis of statistical data of Social Progress
Imperative.
