Qısa məlumat

Knee rehabilitation among geriatrics is a common health issue in the modern age. Musculoskeletal diseases and injuries are quite common in today's lifestyle. Knee osteoarthritis is a worldwide disease that affects both sexes equally. The global incidence data for 2020 shows that approximately 654.1 million people worldwide suffer from this condition. Knee injuries in sports and accidents add another big number of patients to the affected population. These medical conditions deteriorate sufferers' quality of life as they have not only to bear medical expenses but also to compromise their routines. Rehabilitation of these patients is a big and urgent issue to be addressed. Along with medication, physiotherapy is the most sought-after remedy to the problem. In contrast to the prevalent physiotherapy equipment, the proposed system unveils a gamified and VR-powered innovative knee exerciser that multifunctionally syncs and monitors the patient's health data in real-time and integrates a score of physiotherapy exercise modes to the individuals undergoing knee rehabilitation. The novelty of the equipment lies in the embedded VR that monitors a range of knee movement and strength for muscle stretch while keeping a check on the patient's heart rate. The gamification of personalized exercise programs provides fun healing owing to motivation and regularity. Real-time sharing of patient's health data and interaction with the doctor is an added layer to the system that enhances safety and desired results.
