The emerging technological paradigm and the next industrial revolution are creating new challenges for economic processes at both the macro and micro levels. The specific feature of the mentioned technological paradigm and the new industrial revolution is the application of innovations and the achievement of sustainable development as a result. Innovations have a positive impact on the development of all three directions of sustainable development - economic, social and ecological. It is as a result of this that the volume of production of value-added products in companies increases, the social welfare of people improves, and the ecological environment is less damaged within the framework of paperless technology. In this study, the directions of ensuring the protection of sustainable economic development with the application of preventive innovations in companies on the example of Azerbaijan were analyzed. As a result, the economic corrections needed in the long term for the improvement of the current situation were given by the authors in the form of proposals.
