In the context of globalisation, the national economy of our country has entered a stage when its further development is directly related to the transition to the concept of sustainable and inclusive development. This, in turn, requires the realisation of sustainable and inclusive development as a managed process that takes into account the interests and benefits of present and future generations. The textbook therefore focuses on the essence and principles of sustainable and inclusive development, justifies the need for a transition to sustainable development, then explains the main sustainable development goals and their characteristics, the economic, social and environmental indicators of sustainable development, the essence and theoretical foundations of inclusive development, the crucial role of human capital and the competitiveness of national economies in the transition to sustainable and inclusive development, and the role of the human capital and the competitiveness of national economies in the transition to sustainable and inclusive development.
