The article examines the role of the state in enhancing the competitiveness of Azerbaijan’s agricultural sector within the context of ongoing economic modernization and global market challenges. It analyzes key policy instruments, including subsidies, preferential credit programs, investment incentives, infrastructure development, and support for innovation and export-oriented production. Particular emphasis is placed on how government measures contribute to increasing productivity, improving the quality of agricultural products, and strengthening the financial stability of rural producers.

The study highlights the importance of coordinated state intervention aimed at modernizing the material and technical base, promoting agricultural cooperatives, and expanding access to new technologies and international markets. The author concludes that further improvements in policy mechanisms, transparency, and targeted support are essential for ensuring sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness of Azerbaijan’s agriculture.
