The language of detective works has an original features at all levels. The words or phrases that are addressed to someone or something are called the appeals (the address).One of them is appeal. The appeals do not only carry nominally informational tasks, but also have a stylistic function. This time there play a role the lexical-semantic features of appeal words and phrases, and the intonation features. The stylistic features of the appeals are determined by mental outlook of the one who appeals and the one to whom he appeals, and his attitude towards the person in front of him. The appeals with literary style have different structural and semantic attributes.  They have positive, negative and figurative coloring. Sometimes a positive word or phrase is used ironically. In detective works there are widely used an appeals in different languages, that are determined by the content of the crime.  A repetitive or additional use of the appeals also has an emotional and expressive feature. Although, in the language of detective works there are mainly the names of Azerbaijanis, there are also used the names of ethnic groups and foreign nationals. In the language of detective works there are often used the double appeal forms. In this case, there are especially used the direct addresses, that are called vocatives in scientific literature. In the article there are analyzed the forms of appeal in detective works.
