Abstract

Digital educational products play an important role in modern education, providing access to knowledge and learning materials anytime and anywhere. However, when developing digital educational products, attention should be paid to the use of energy, materials and resources, as well as the efficiency of waste disposal and recycling. Many studies examine the positive aspects of using digitalization in education. However, there are also many problems. When creating and using such products, their impact on the environment must be taken into account. It is important to ensure safe and environmentally friendly production of digital educational products, minimizing the negative impact on the environment. This study aims to identify the various impacts of digital educational technologies, as well as compliance with environmental standards at all stages of the product life cycle. For studying this problem, we also considered the factors which impact to the evolution of digital educational products and on base of this situation environmental protection. These factors are energy consumption, handling of materials, waste management, virtualization, and teaching environmental literacy. According to our hypothesis, the level of influence of factors reflecting the relationship between digital educational products and environmental protection can be significant and varied. There are several key aspects to this relationship. First, manufacturing devices and components for digital educational products requires energy and resources, which can lead to environmental pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and the use of harmful chemicals. Secondly, digital educational products can help reduce the consumption of paper textbooks and other printed materials, which has a positive impact on forest conservation and reducing waste generation. However, it is also important to consider the energy consumption of electronic devices and ensure they can be recycled. Taking these aspects into account, the level of influence and interrelation of these factors should be determined, which is the main objective of this article. The forecast model was created to determine the impact of the development of digital educational products on environmental protection.
