Abstract: GaSe nanoparticles obtained by laser ablation of a solid target in ethanol and in a solution of PVP in ethanol have been experimentally studied. The Nd:YAG laser pulses with a duration of 10 ns, an energy of 135 mJ, and a wavelength of 1064 nm have been used as a radiation source. In the formed colloidal solution, nanoparticles with a diameter from 2 to 20 nm have been observed. X-ray diffraction analysis has revealed that the nanoparticles have a crystal structure similar to the structure of a bulk GaSe crystal. It has been revealed that photoluminescence spectra of composite nanoparticles GaSe in polyvinylpyrrolidone covers a wide emission range of 400–650 nm.
