To increase the efficiency of cleaning raw cotton from weed impurities, preliminary preparation is necessary to improve the structure of the cotton mass. The result of the preparation is the disaggregation of the processed cotton particles and increase their free surface. These processes can be ensured by introducing additional peg rollers into the composition of the cotton gin feeder. Additional peg rollers must have a higher rotational speed than the feed rollers. This allows for tensile deformation of the cotton particles fed into the machine. Dependences are obtained that allow calculating the deformation depending on the design and technological parameters of the feeder. In the case of exceeding the deformation permissible under the conditions of the particles destruction, they are disaggregated. Recommendations for the choice of structural and technological parameters of the feeder have been developed. The ability of the feeder to disaggregate cotton particles consisting of more than eight volatiles has been experimentally confirmed, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed technical solution.
