Abstract
This paper explores how the competence of the workforce directly influences the implementation and success of green industrial practices. While policies and technological advancements are important for sustainability, it is the presence of a skilled workforce that enables the effective adoption of green technologies, better resource management, and continuous innovation. The research uses a qualitative approach that combines a literature review with selected case studies to investigate how workforce quality impacts sustaina-ble industrial development. The findings suggest that when industries invest in targeted green skills training, they achieve measurable sustainability out-comes, such as improved energy efficiency, reduced carbon emissions, and faster adoption of eco-friendly practices. The study also highlights work-force-related challenges that hinder the transition to sustainable industrial practices. Additionally, the analysis emphasizes the importance of partner-ships between policymakers, industry leaders, and research institutions in addressing the green skills gap and speeding up the shift towards sustainable practices.
