Abstract

China's rapid economic growth has led to environmental challenges, necessitating a balance between economic prosperity and environmental sustainability. This study, utilizing the ARDL model from 2000 to 2022, aims to investigate the intricate relationship between natural resources, environmental factors, and green growth in China's markets. Specifically, it seeks to analyze the long-term and short-term interactions among these variables, assess the impact of environmental regulations on the relationship between natural resources and green growth, and provide insights into strategies for promoting sustainable development. Findings reveal a complex interplay, with increased natural resource utilization initially fueling economic growth yet also contributing to environmental degradation. However, stringent environmental policies prove pivotal in fostering green growth by encouraging the adoption of cleaner technologies and sustainable practices. Policy implications highlight the critical need for robust environmental regulations to mitigate environmental impacts while promoting sustainable economic development.
