9th INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL SCIENCES CONFERANCE IN THE BALKANS, İzmir, Turkey, 26 - 27 October 2019, pp.333-337, (Full Text)
The Millenium Declaration was adopted at the UN in September 2000 with participation of representatives
from all countries of the world. The article emphasizes the role of educational problems (primarily in
teaching basic sciences and values) as one of the most important reasons for the crisis in world politics and
contemporary international relations. The connection between the two areas is linked to an increasing
number of populist parties in the political arena, as well as leaders of these parties and voters who vote for
them. The study refers to various statistical indicators and their analysis. The education, which was unable
to demonstrate sufficient flexibility in the face of globalization and modern technology challenges, could not
also show the connection between the UN's human development goals with the basic concerns, rights and
freedoms of its "simple" voters, and did not develop or implement modern perceptual mechanisms for this.
The author emphasizes the importance of education professionals, academics and intellectuals to be more
active in the international, scientific and public spheres for developing and implementing an educational
model that takes into account the aforementioned issues.
