Abstract

Phase relations in the CrS-Yb3S4 system were studied by differential thermal analysis, x-ray diffraction, and microstructural analysis. The compounds Yb3Cr2S6, Yb3CrS5, and Yb9CrS13 were obtained, and their magnetic properties were investigated. The three sulfides were found to be paramagnetic in the temperature range 80-300 K. © 2001 MAIK "Naukap/Interperiodica".
