The objective of the present review is to give an overview on recent advances on the synthesis of α-thiocyanatoketones and β-thiocyanato alcohols through the direct oxy-/hydroxy-thiocyanation reactions of unsaturated hydrocarbons. The literature has been surveyed up until the end of October 2024. We hope that this review will inspire the development of novel thiocyanative difunctionalization reactions and improve the efficiency of existing ones.
