Qısa məlumat

The English Place Name Society was founded in 1923 with the purpose of carrying out a survey of the English place names. The founder of the English Place Name Society was A.Mawer who headed the EPNS from 1923 to 1942. The first county survey of Buckinghamshire appeared in 1925. To date, the survey has produced 90 volumes, the most recent being “The Place-Names of Leicestershire Part VI”, published in 2014. Almost all English counties have been surveyed at least in part, but work to complete the survey of the place names is ongoing.
