The purpose of the study is to analyse the directions of development and investigate the structure of turnovers on transport sectors and production of the transport in relation to some macroeconomic indicators. One of the urgent problem put forward is to assign the role of goods and passenger transportations for economic development. So, based on results of this study, transportations of goods and passengers can be analyzed by using the changes in some macroeconomic indicators. On other side it is possible to investigate the impact of budget expenditures to this sector and indirectly to other sectors of the economic system by using the obtained results. The production process in the transport sector has been modelled for the case of Azerbaijan by using the statistic and econometric methods. The impact of increase in retail trade to the transportations of goods and passengers have been estimated on basis of some models and the results have been interpreted.
