The paper analyzes the designs of cartridges for obtaining bobbins supplied to the yarn-dyeing apparatus. Experimental studies were carried out to reveal the influence of the useful surface coefficient and the specific number of cartridge perforations, which characterize the perforation values of its surface, on the dyeing process and the quality of the dyed yarn. The influence of the useful surface coefficient of the cartridge on the defects of the dyed yarn and on the amount of waste obtained in the dyeing process has been determined.
