Abstract
A novel benzo[b]thiophen-2-ylgold(I) tert-butyl isocyanide complex was synthesized via a facile transmetallation reaction from the corresponding boronic acid. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the complex forms a zigzag-shaped tetramer in the solid state, stabilized by aurophilic interactions (Au···Au 3.1585(4) and 3.1837(6) Å). The supramolecular architecture is further supported by a combination of S···H contacts and CH–π interactions, resulting in a stable three-dimensional network.
