Abstract: Tourism and recreation activities have some negative
impact on the landscape and the natural environment. Therefore, the
protection of the environment requires of some measures. The article
provides information about natural tourism and recreational potential
of the Lankaran-Astara economic-geographical region, activities of
boarding houses and resorts also other tourist objects, located in the
region. For the region analyzes air and water pollution and other
ecological indicators. Due to the low environmental impact, important
factors for the development of ecotourism are described here. It is shown that rural and mountain tourism can serve to stabilize the
