Abstract

Phase equilibria in the Tl2X-SnX-PbX (X = Se, Te) systems are studied by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, and microhardness measurements. Isothermal sections of the phase diagrams at a level of 500°C, several vertical sections, and the projections of the liquidus surfaces on the composition triangles are constructed. Quarternary phases of variable compositions based on the terminal binary compounds and the ternary compounds Tl4BVX3 are found to exist, and their crystallization fields and homogeneity regions are outlined.
