Alida Huseynova was born on January 1, 1978, in the Dmanisi district of the Republic of Georgia.
In 2001, she completed her undergraduate studies in “Finance and Credit” at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), and in 2003, she graduated with distinction from the master’s program in the same field.
She began her professional career at the university in 2002 as a part-time laboratory assistant (0.5 FTE).
Since 2003, she has worked as an hourly-paid lecturer at the “Banking” Department. In the same year, she was admitted as a dissertation candidate at the “Banking” Department of UNEC. She completed her dissertation on the topic: “Stability of Commercial Banks and Ways to Improve It in the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
On December 27, 2013, she defended her dissertation to obtain the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.
By the decision of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics on February 10, 2015.
In 2014, by order of the rector, she was appointed as a part-time lecturer (0.5 FTE) at the “Banking” Department.
Since 2015, she has been working full-time (1.0 FTE) at the “Finance and Financial Institutions” Department.
On March 18, 2018, she was promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer by order of the rector.
As of April 20, 2022, she has been serving as an Associate Professor at the “Finance and Audit” Department.
She is the author and co-author of 36 scientific publications, including one textbook in Azerbaijani and two teaching programs. Six of her articles have been published in impact factor journals (2 in the Web of Science database and 4 in the Scopus database).
She is married and has three children.
