Dr. Donat Rexha completed his doctoral studies at the South East European University (SEEU) in North Macedonia, Faculty of Business and Economics, where he defended his PhD in Economics with the dissertation titled “The Impact of Fiscal Policies on Economic Growth in the Republic of Kosovo: An Empirical Analysis.”
He also holds a Master’s degree in Financial Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Business and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is married, has four children, and lives in Prishtina.

Dr. Rexha has extensive academic and professional experience across the public, private, and international sectors. Since 2012, he has been a professor at AAB College (www.kolegjiaab.com), where he teaches courses such as Macroeconomics, Public Finance, and Managerial Economics.

Since 2016, he has also served as an expert for international organizations including UNICEF Kosovo (www.unicef.org), the Council of Europe, and UN Women Kosovo, contributing to the development of inclusive public policies in the areas of children’s rights, disability inclusion, gender-responsive budgeting, and community participation in local development.

He played a key role in drafting the National Development Strategy 2021–2027 in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister and the Strategic Planning Office, as well as the Office for Good Governance, where he supported the preparation of strategic documents on human rights and sustainable development.

His other professional engagements include developing the Strategy for the Prevention of Domestic and Gender-Based Violence, Action Plans on the rights of children and persons with disabilities, and providing consultancy for the private sector in the design and monitoring of strategic and action plans.
He has also served as a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at the Regional Water Company “Bifurkacioni.”

Dr. Rexha is the author of over 13 Scopus-indexed scientific papers, focusing on fiscal policy, economic development, labor markets, and governance.

Visiting Professorships & Academic Engagements

Dr. Rexha has served as a Visiting Professor at the International Islamic University Malaysia and the State Islamic University in Indonesia, where he lectured on economic development in the Western Balkans, digitalization, and the impact of the pandemic.
Recently, he also delivered lectures as a Visiting Professor at the Romanian-American University in Bucharest, Romania.

He is a member of editorial boards of several international journals and serves as Kosovo’s representative in activities promoting higher education advancement and academic mentorship.
