Prof. FAZİL HACIYEV

He was born on January 11, 1956 in Fuzuli region.

He studied at the secondary school in 1963-1973.

In 1974-1976 he served in the Soviet military contingent in the former German Democratic Republic.

In 1978 he was admitted to the full-time department of   “Accounting and Economics” Faculty of  Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy named after D.Bunyadzade (now Azerbaijan State University of Economics). In 1982, he graduated with honors from the Institute with a degree in Accounting, Control and Business Analysis. As a highly educated specialist, he worked as a chief accountant at “Araz”  state farm in  Fuzuli region. In 1983-1985, he worked as the head of the organizational department of the district Komsomol committee.

In 1985-1988, he left the industry and studied full-time at the graduate school of the university. In 1988, he worked as the head of the laboratory at the department of “Analysis of Economic Activity”, and in 1989 as a teacher, head teacher of the same department, in 1996 he was elected associate professor. In 2001-2005 he worked as the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Accounting and Economics.

In 1988, he defended his dissertation at Moscow State University named after M. B Lomonosov, where he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Accounting, control and analysis of economic activity” and received the degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences. He is currently a professor at the department of “Accounting and Auditing” at   Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

In 2010, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Economics in “Accounting, Statistics” and approved by the Higher Attestation Commission.

In 2000-2003 he worked as the chairman of the trade union at the faculty of “Accounting and Economics” of  University of Economics. In 2001, he served as dean of the same faculty. He is a member of the Union of Economists of Azerbaijan, as well as the admission commission for doctoral studies in “Accounting” at the Research and Training Center for Labor and Social Problems of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, it is a review in the internationally licensed “Azerbaijan Tax” journal.

On December 28, 2016, UNEC Rector A. Muradov thanked for the fruitful scientific-pedagogical and labor activity on the occasion of “31 December Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis” and “New Year” holidays (ORDER   № 902/3/2016) 591 / 5,000

In 2020, by the order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, he was awarded the badge “Advanced Education Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.

In 2017, Professor F. Hajiyev was awarded the Honorary Order of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan “for his services to the development of education, for his high achievements in the field of training and education of the young generation” and on the occasion of October 5 – International Teachers’ Day.

Currently, he is a professor of the “Finance and Audit” department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, a doctor of economic sciences.

He is married. He has two children.
