Biography
Dr. Gulnara
Mikayilzade graduated
with honors from the D. Bunyatzade Institute of National Economy in 1976. From
1976 to 1980, she worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the Research Institute
under the State Planning Committee of Azerbaijan.
Between 1980 and 1984, she pursued postgraduate studies (PhD program) at the
Azerbaijan State University of Economics. In 1984, she successfully defended
her dissertation and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Economic
Sciences (PhD equivalent) in Economics.
From 1985 to 1988,
she served as a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Urban Problems of
Baku under the Baku City Council. Between 1989 and 1999, she worked as a Lecturer
at the Department of State Regulation of the Economy at the Azerbaijan State
University of Economics. In 1998–1999, she held the position of Senior
Lecturer at the Department of Macroeconomic Regulation. From 1999 to 2017,
she was an Associate Professor at the Department of Economic Regulation.
Since 2017, she has been serving as an Associate Professor at the
Department of Applied Economics at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics
(UNEC).
Her teaching
portfolio includes courses such as Macroeconomics, Microeconomics,
and Introduction to Economics.
Her research interests focus on macroeconomic regulation, public economic
policy, and sustainable economic development.
