Jamala Khankishiyeva was born on December 8, 1978 in Baku.
In 1996-2000, she studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (bachelor's degree) in the specialty "Legal Regulation of the Economy".
In 2000-2002, she studied at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics at the master's degree level.
In 2001-2002, she worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the "Economic Theory" department, in 2003 as a teacher, in 2011 as a senior teacher at the same department, and since 2017 as an associate professor.
In 2008, she defended her candidate's thesis and received the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.
Since 2022, she has been an associate professor at the "Economics" department.
