Assoc. Prof. Xədicə Abbaslı

Khadija Ismayil Abbasli

I was born on June 6, 1973, in Otuzikilər village, Barda district, Azerbaijan. In 1980, I began my primary education and graduated from secondary school in 1990. That same year, I was admitted to the Faculty of History and Sociology at Baku State University, named after M.A. Rasulzade, where I pursued full-time studies. I successfully completed my degree in Sociology in 1995.

My academic career began in 1996 at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, where I worked as a senior laboratory assistant in the Department of Political History. In 2001, I was promoted to the position of lecturer, and in 2004, I joined the Department of International Relations as a senior lecturer. In 2011, I continued my academic work in the Department of Azerbaijani History, and since 2016, I have been a senior lecturer in the Department of Humanities. In 2022, I was appointed Associate Professor.

Since 2003, I have been a doctoral researcher at the A.A. Bakikhanov Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS). During my research, I completed a dissertation titled "The Ganja-Karabakh Beylerbeylik in the First Half of the 18th Century", successfully passing all required academic evaluations. In 2014, I defended my dissertation at the A.A. Bakikhanov Institute of History, and in 2015, I was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in History by the Higher Attestation Commission (AAK).

I have authored 12 scientific articles, which have been published in various international journals and conferences, including those in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Russia, and Ukraine. Additionally, I have written one textbook and one historical monograph. Throughout my academic career, I have actively contributed to scientific research, participated in the development of methodological guidelines and academic programs, and played an integral role in the intellectual and administrative life of my university and department.

I have also engaged in professional development, obtaining certifications in Soft Skills (2022) and Digital Skills (2024) through training programs organized by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

Since 2001, I have been a member of the New Azerbaijan Party.

I am married and have two children.
