Prof. Nizami Süleymanov

Born in 1958 in the Republic of Georgia.

In 1974, he entered the full-time department of the History Faculty of Azerbaijan State University (now Baku State University), and graduated from the History Faculty of the same University in 1979.

In 1979-1984, he worked as a teacher in the Agdash region by appointment.

In 1984-1995, he worked as a laboratory assistant, senior laboratory assistant, and teacher at the "Azerbaijan History" Department of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.

In 1990, he defended his dissertation and is a candidate of historical sciences.

Since 1995, he has worked as a senior teacher and associate professor at the "Azerbaijan History" Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.

In 2000-2003, he was a doctoral student at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. In December 2013, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of History by the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan after defending his dissertation titled “Economic Life of the Safavid State of Azerbaijan” for the degree of Doctor of History.

On October 6, 2017, he was awarded the “Honorary Order” of UNEC for his long-term fruitful scientific and pedagogical activity.

Currently, he is a professor at the “Humanities” department of UNEC.

He is married and has two children.
