Lect. Rafiq Verdiyev

Born in 1958 in the village of Goyalli, Gadabay region. In 1965, he was admitted to the 1st grade of the 8-year school of Goyalli village, and in 1973, to the 9th grade of the secondary school of Chayrasullu village. In 1975, he graduated from the 10th grade of the same school with honors.

He served in the military service in 1976-1978. In 1979, he entered the correspondence department of the mathematics faculty of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute (now Azerbaijan Pedagogical University), and successfully graduated in 1984.

In 1979, he was hired as a firefighter in the Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1991-1992, he served as an inspector for personnel work in the 3rd Militarized Fire Protection Detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in 1993, he was the deputy chief for personnel work in the 39th Independent Militarized Fire Protection Unit, in 1993-1995, he served as an engineer and chief engineer in the State Fire Control Department of the Main State Fire Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 1996, he worked as a senior teacher-methodologist at the Baku Fire-Technical School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and from 1997 to 2012, he was the head of the educational department. In 2005, the Baku Fire-Technical School was transferred to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and renamed the Fire Technical College. By order No. 2126/sh of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 07, 2004, he was awarded the title of “The Best Employee of the State Fire Safety Service”, and by order No. 2920/sh of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 15, 2010, he was awarded the badges of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For Service”. In 2012, in accordance with the regulations on service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, he retired and is a lieutenant colonel in the reserve.

Since 2013, he has been working at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Civil Defense, and since 2014, as a full-time lecturer at the Department of Humanities.

He is married and has two children.
