Assoc. Prof. Rafiq Axundov

Born in 1957 in Lankaran.

From 1964 to 1974, he studied at secondary school No. 225 in Baku.

In 1980, he graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov of the Russian Federation. Since 1984, he was seconded to the same university for 2 years as a researcher-intern.

From 1986 to 1989, he was a part-time graduate student at Moscow State University.

In 1989, he defended his dissertation and received the degree of Candidate of Historical Sciences.

From 1982 to 2001, he worked as a research assistant at ANAS.

Since 2002, he has been a senior lecturer at the “History of Azerbaijan” department of Azerbaijan State Economic University.

Currently, he is an associate professor at the “Humanities” department of UNEC.

Married, has one daughter.
