Senior Research Fellow SƏRDAR ŞABANOV

Prof. Dr. Sardar Shabanov was born in 1957 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

He completed his secondary education at Secondary School No. 32 in Baku (1964–1972) and graduated from Physics and Mathematics School No. 1 in Baku with a specialization in Mathematics (1972–1974).

He received his degree in Mathematics from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Baku State University in 1979.

From 1979 to 1982, he worked at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. Between 1983 and 1988, he completed an internship and postgraduate studies at the Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In 1996, he earned the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences after successfully defending his dissertation at the Institute of Cybernetics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

Since 1995, he has been employed at the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), where he has served as Senior Laboratory Instructor, Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor. Since 2013, he has also been working as a Senior Researcher at the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Studies of UNEC.

From 2018 to 2023, he pursued doctoral studies in Economics at the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Studies of UNEC.

His research interests include scientific productivity, innovation economics, intellectual property, economics of education and science, and socio-economic development. He is the author of  60 scientific publications, including  2 textbooks.
