Tural Naghiyev was born on November 23, 1986, in Dəstə village of the Ordubad district. He graduated from secondary school in 2003. From 2003 to 2007, he studied for a bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University, and from 2008 to 2010, he pursued his master's degree at the same faculty. He served in the military from 2007 to 2008. After completing his military service, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences until 2009. From 2009 to 2010, he worked as a thermal power engineer at Azenco JSC's Sumgayit Technologies Park. From 2012 to 2015, he studied in the full-time postgraduate program at the Institute of Physics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. In 2018, he defended his dissertation on the topic “Photoluminescence properties of solid solutions of CaxBa1-xGa2S4 activated with rare earth elements (REE = Eu, Er, and Pr)” and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Physics. From 2012 to 2020, he worked at the Institute of Physics of ANAS, holding positions such as junior research fellow, research fellow, senior research fellow, and leading research fellow. From 2016 to 2017, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the National Nuclear Research Center. From 2018 to 2019, he served as a senior research fellow at the same institution. Since 2020, he has been a part-time senior lecturer (0.5 FTE) at the Department of “Engineering and Applied Sciences” at UNEC (Azerbaijan State University of Economics). From 2021 to 2024, he served as the Director of the Laboratory Operations Organization Center at UNEC. Since 2019, he has been a researcher at UNEC’s “Composite Materials” Research Center on a voluntary basis. Since 2023, he has been a part-time doctoral student (Doctor of Science degree) at the Institute of Radiation Problems of ANAS. As of November 22, 2024, he has been appointed as the Head of the Department of “Engineering and Applied Sciences.” He is the author of over 90 scientific works, including more than 60 scientific articles, over 50 of which have been published in prestigious international journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus databases. He is also the author of nearly 20 international (mostly abroad) and national conference proceedings, as well as 8 software programs. He has repeatedly been the winner of international and national grant competitions and has served as the project leader. He is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the UNEC Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He also serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Advanced Physical Research, a journal indexed in the Scopus database. In 2015, he was awarded the “Best Young Scientist of the Year” prize, established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

He is married and has two children.
